Ganga hospital was founded by Mrs and Dr JG Shanmuganathan in 1978. This year it moved to its new location and is presently a 400 bedded super speciality hospital catering exclusively to Trauma, Plastic Surgery & Microsurgery and Orthopaedics. The Department of Plastic Surgery has a busy microsurgical load performing about 100 replantations and critical revascularisations and about 100 free flaps a year. It has 6 operating theatres for Plastic Surgery and another theatre exclusively for burn injuries.
